Office of Technology and Solutions Integration (OTSI)
Senior IT Procurement and Contract Analyst (IT Specialist II)

The analyst works independently as a subject matter expert and specialist, consulting with other departments within the California Health and Human Services Agency on complex IT acquisitions and contract management. The analyst is the lead on procurement-related activities, working with the agency procurement officer, executive management and project teams. The analyst “must possess expert knowledge in state IT acquisition methods (LPA, formal, informal, non-competitive, etc.) and contract management.”

Department of Justice
Full Stack Java Developer/Technical Lead (IT Specialist II)
$8,374-$11,220 per month

The incumbent will serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for the firearms systems, which contain sensitive and confidential data, and a complex suite of applications and multisystem interfaces. The developer “is responsible for leading the design, development and maintenance of multiple highly scalable, fault-tolerant, business-critical, internal- and external-facing applications,” according to the job posting.

The developer “performs project lead responsibilities over one or more applications and works both independently and as a team leader to prioritize work, develop work plans and manage task assignments.” Duties include:
  • Reviewing applications to detect deficiencies and opportunities for improvement
  • Providing solution and design recommendations that align with standards and best practices
  • Developing road maps and plans required to implement these recommendations
  • Leading and mentoring the team of analysts and developers throughout the project life cycle

Department of State Hospitals
Senior Software Application Developer (IT Specialist II)

The incumbent is responsible for research, evaluation, testing, recommendation and implementation of new technologies, processes and techniques, independently and with other staff in a lead capacity. The developer “develops, maintains and utilizes expertise in software and data system design, architecture, development and processes to implement and support the most complex projects and initiatives,” the job posting says.

Desirable qualifications for this role include experience with and understanding of hospital technologies as well as with integrating disparate systems and software and hardware solutions. Applicants are required to submit a statement of qualifications addressing these points:
