Prepare for Our Fresh New Look, Expanded Accessibility

“We are pleased to provide an improved user experience with our new website accessibility features so all members can access our job-critical content,” said Mike Driessen, publisher of Industry Insider and vice president of Subscription Services for parent company e.Republic.

Say hello to the redesigned home of Industry Insider — California.

The website’s menu pages and content remain the same, but as of Tuesday morning the site has been reorganized to make it easier to read. Like before, if you are not signed in and want to read an “Insider” story or see other “gated” content, such as Opportunities or the Insider Tools menu, you will be prompted to provide your credentials. Once you’re logged in as a member, all gated content is available.

In furtherance of Industry Insider — California’s mission to serve all parts of the gov tech community, we’ve built in new accessibility features to the website for those with impairments. With technology from UserWay, the contents of the new Industry Insider — California website can be readily accessed by those with visual impairments. The UserWay tool is used by many large corporations and governments to make their content more accessible.

“We are pleased to provide an improved user experience with our new website accessibility features so all members can access our job-critical content,” said Mike Driessen, publisher of Industry Insider and vice president of Subscription Services for parent company e.Republic. “We encourage the gov tech community to embrace website accessibility best practices.”

The federal Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as California and other states, require online accessibility tools to allow those with impairments to transact government business online. These tools include magnifiers, audio readers and other accommodations to help users easily access and navigate websites.
