Public Sector CIO Awards Submission Deadline Extended

Government Technology's California Public Sector CIO Academy Awards has extended its deadline for submissions. Applicants now have until Jan. 18 to apply.

There will be awards for:

• The California CIO Academy IT Leadership Award
• California Public CIO of the Year — given to the chief information officer who demonstrates vision and leadership
• California Public CTO of the Year — given to the chief technology officer who demonstrates vision and leadership

The focus of the awards is on exceptional leadership, customer service and public stewardship.

Jerry Becker of San Joaquin County, Russell Nichols of the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and Jason Piccione of the Department of Consumer Affairs were among the gov tech leaders honored last year.

Submissions can be made here. The awards will be announced at the CIO Academy event on Feb. 25-26.
