The California Department of Water Resources is seeking a vendor partner to provide IT training to engineers and personnel who manage computer systems that operate the state's hydroelectric dams and other critical infrastructure.
DWR explains the scope of the proposed contract in an RFP released Nov. 29.
"[The] Contractor will provide to Department of Water Resources (DWR) live classroom and/or virtual classroom on Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, Citrix and other best business practice related training as described herein. This contract provides the required training for DWR engineers and technicians to understand the fundamental theory; effective and secure configure of equipment and software for operations, management, maintenance, diagnostics and monitoring of the Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, and Citrix technologies and systems implemented in the communications systems, control systems and energy management systems used for the operations and control of hydroelectric powerplants and hydro structures."
Some of the bidder requirements include:
1. Bidder must be an Authorized Cisco Learning Solutions Partner and provide Cisco Certified Trainers with class curriculum, materials and content.
2. Bidder must be an Authorized Microsoft Learning Partner and provide Microsoft Certified Trainers with class curriculum, materials and content.
3. Bidder must be an Authorized VMware Learning Partner and provide VMware Certified Instructors with class curriculum, materials and content.
4. Bidder and any identified subcontractors must be able to provide training throughout California, but a majority of the training will be conducted in the counties of Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Francisco.
