The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors approved several multiyear technology contracts this week, including cybersecurity monitoring and management, record digitization and management, and a large Axon training contract for the Sheriff-Coroner’s Office.

Supervisors approved a multiyear network “monitoring and management system” contract with Massachusetts-based NetBrain Technologies Inc. The five-year cybersecurity services contract will cost $1,160,550 for the full term and will auto-renew in five-year increments, according to agenda documents.

According to its website, the county’s Innovation and Technology Department (ITD) supports a number of technology touchpoints that include 17,828 email accounts, 21,730 phones and 16,537 desktops. ITD is led by CIO Lynn Fyhrlund.

In addition to this contract, several other tech-related buys were approved by the board on Tuesday as part of the consent agenda.

The Purchasing Department was authorized to enter into a three-party agreement with Corodata Records Management Inc. and Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. Inc. for records management and digitization services. That contract will run from Oct. 22, 2024, through Oct. 21, 2031, at a rate not to exceed $600,000 annually.

The Sheriff-Coroner’s Office was authorized to enter into a non-financial contract with Axon Enterprises Inc. for Evidence.com software licensing through Dec. 31, 2024, as well as a five-year, $10,328,908 contract for the provision of the Taser 10 certification program with virtual reality.

Supervisors also approved a five-year maintenance and repair contract with ASCO Power Technologies for automatic transfer switches at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC), as well as an amendment allowing for a six-month extension of a contract with Experian Health for payment software service support.

ARMC is a 456-bed facility with a Level 1 trauma center and the second-busiest emergency department in the state, according to a recent solicitation posted by the county.
