San Francisco Seeks Data Services, Qualified UASI Vendors

The city and county of San Francisco is looking for a vendor to provide data and evaluation services for its Department of Early Childhood, and an ongoing request for qualifications seeks tech and other vendors for its Urban Area Security Initiatives.

Last week, Industry Insider California reported on the approval of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency’s automated speed enforcement system and the solicitation that accompanied the plan.

Today, we have two other procurements that could be worth a look for the right vendors.

The first is a solicitation for data and evaluation services for the city and county’s Department of Early Childhood (DEC).

According to the bid posting, these services center on four distinct areas: data mapping and data governance for better utilization, tracking, and reporting of information coming into DEC; high-quality evaluation implementation for six critical early-childhood initiative program areas within DEC; landscape analysis to understand the broader context DEC operates within; and data systems development and systems project management for identifying database and data system needs and advising on software development.

This solicitation was originally posted June 10. Bids are due by 6 p.m. July 9. The point of contact for this posting is DEC Contracts.

The second posting is an addendum to an existing request for qualifications (RFQ) that was initially posted in October 2021 and meant to create a list of “qualified suppliers (‘Proposers’) to provide technology services, terrorism prevention, emergency preparedness, public safety, cyber readiness, and community resilience services for the Bay Area [Urban Area Security Initiatives (UASI)] Region (‘Proposals’).”

RFQ packages are being accepted until 5 p.m. Dec. 21, 2025. The point of contact for this RFQ is Scott Kaplan.
