Santa Barbara County wants to deploy a cloud-based e-procurement system and is currently seeking a vendor. Proposals are due Aug. 8.

The e-procurement software will need to work with the current vendor payment system under the auditor’s office and the systems within all other individual departments, including a payroll system and property tax system. The auditor’s system was built specifically for the county’s use.

The system will be responsible for handling about $200 million in procurement spending, contract and spending management, and automating workflow. Currently the county makes orders using a purchase order system, without catalogs.

The contract portion of implementation will include accounting code transfers and a way to update components for financial commitment, delivery dates and signature status.

According to RFP documents, county officials estimate about 250 core users for the program and expect the IT Division will help with deployment.
