Meg Arnold, CEO of the Sacramento Regional Technology Alliance (SARTA), is stepping down at the end of September, the nonprofit announced Tuesday.
SARTA was established in 2001 to champion and attract investment in Sacramento region’s technology sector. Arnold came aboard in 2009 and immediately worked to drive growth in the alliance’s membership and improve regional awareness about innovation’s role in economic growth.
"I am especially proud that the first of five priorities identified in the broadly-adopted Next Economy regional economic development strategy is focused on the need to "foster a strong innovation environment" – a clear indication that the contributions of technology-based companies are no longer solely a SARTA issue," Arnold said via a press release.

"The Sacramento region holds great promise and potential, and I look forward to seeing that potential fully realized," she continued.
SARTA Board Chair Peter Van Deventer said Arnold "has been instrumental in the development of the vibrant technology sector that is growing regionally." He noted that SARTA’s membership has grown under Arnold’s leadership, and the alliance has built its MedStart program and founded AgStart — accelerator initiatives for local medical and agriculture ventures.
Prior to joining SARTA, Arnold worked for UC Davis and Drexel University. She spent a decade in the international telecommunications industry before coming to the Sacramento area in 2001.
Meg has an MBA in finance from the University of San Francisco and a bachelor’s degree in English from Cornell University. She lives in Davis with her two children.
