Sept. 15: California Broadband Council Meeting in Riverside

The council is scheduled to hear informational testimony from the California Department of Education, the California State Library, and the California State Transportation Agency.

The California Broadband Council’s next meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 9 a.m. at the UC Riverside School of Public Policy.

The nine-member council, chaired by state CIO Carlos Ramos, was formed in 2010 through state legislation to further broadband network deployment and eliminate the digital divide.

The council is scheduled to hear informational testimony from the California Department of Education, the California State Library and the California State Transportation Agency. According to the meeting agenda, the group also will be updated on work related to the California Telehealth Network and the California First Responder Network. Riverside County CIO Steve Reneker also will present to the council.
