The public sector is recruiting IT talent again. Here are some of the open positions at multiple levels throughout the state.
The city of Sacramento is seeking an IT supervisor to manage a large part of the Information Technology Office. The position, which was posted Jan. 30, will focus on management of the Department of Utilities’ Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system that oversees the city’s water and sewer system.
Humboldt State posted an opening for a chief information officer last week. The new CIO would be in charge of hiring IT staff, managing the university’s IT budget and maintaining strategic objectives. The former CIO, Anna Kircher, retired in January, and Bethany Rizzardi is serving as interim CIO.
The Department of Conservation is seeking a new CIO. This career executive assignment will require the CIO to implement policies and procedures to deliver department goals. The outgoing CIO, Catherine Kendall, has set the department on a path toward paperless records. She will be moving to the Community College Chancellor’s Office.
The California Earthquake Authority needs an assistant CIO. The employee will oversee enterprise and data architecture managers, software developers and maintain metrics to determine the success of business processes within the department.
The Department of Veterans Affairs will no longer accept applications for an agency information officer after Friday. Among other responsibilities, the officer will represent the agency in the Legislature, in the Governor’s Office and on the California Department of Technology’s IT Executive Council.
