Los Angeles County government is holding a free workshop Thursday for small businesses that want to compete for local, state and federal government contracts.
Exhibitors include a host of public- and private-sector organizations such as the Los Angeles County Internal Services Department, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, LA Metro, the federal General Services Administration, the California Department of General Services and the Los Angeles Community College District.
The event is called the PTAC Summit, named for the Los Angeles Procurement Technical Assistance Center, and it runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the University of LaVerne Campus Center, 2000 Second St., LaVerne, CA.
“The Board of Supervisors strongly believes in government contracting as a means to boost profitability of small businesses,” says a news release from the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs (DCBA). “The County of Los Angeles Office of Small Business, part of DCBA, holds several events for new and experienced business owners on the latest opportunities to sell their goods and services to government agencies. Earlier this year, DCBA launched Contracting Centers to help business owners develop skills and viability to get 'contract-ready.'”
“Los Angeles County continues to work towards making the contracting process accessible and attractive for small business owners. Millions of dollars in government contracts are available for local small businesses of all types, and DCBA can connect you to lucrative opportunities that you may not even know exist.”
Small-business owners, consultants, subcontractors and anyone else interested in contracting at the local, state and federal levels is welcome. Registration is required.
