Speakers Set for L.A. Digital Government Summit

The conference is presented by Government Technology magazine, sister publication to Industry Insider — California, and is open to those working in the public sector.

The Los Angeles Digital Government Summit, which will bring together public-sector technologists and industry representatives to connect on innovative approaches, is scheduled for Aug. 8, and the agenda has been finalized.

The event runs from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles. More information and a registration link are available online.

In addition to keynote addresses by retired Navy commander Mary Kelly and technology strategist Jack Shaw, several of Southern California’s top technology leaders will speak, including Peter Loo, acting chief information officer for Los Angeles County; and Ted Ross, CIO for the city of Los Angeles.

Numerous breakout sessions are scheduled throughout the day, featuring speakers and panelists from the cities of Los Angeles and Long Beach and L.A. County government, among other entities. The breakouts and the public-sector participants include:

  • “Fortifying the Digital Fortress: Modern Cybersecurity Strategies” Jeff Aguilar, chief information security officer for Los Angeles County; and Daniel Clark Lee, IT Agency Integrated Security Operation Center (ITA ISOC) manager for the city of Los Angeles.
  • “Equitably Transforming Digital Service Delivery for All” with Terrie L. Salazar, IT manager, Technical Support and Services Division, Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk, Los Angeles County; and Ali Everett, assistant executive director for the Department of Disability for the city of Los Angeles.
  • “AI Opportunities: Creative Implementations of Large Language Models” with Majida Adnan, assistant auditor controller and chief information officer for the Department of Auditor Controller, Los Angeles County; Aman Bhullar, chief information officer and assistant registrar-recorder/county clerk for Los Angeles County; and Sandipan Sharma, assessor clerk recorder for Riverside County.
