Patrick Dennis, who had been serving as special projects director, has been named chief information officer for the California Department of Parks and Recreation.
Dennis started with the state as a testing manager with the state Franchise Tax Board in 1993, overseeing software testing and project implementation. He moved to CDT in 2012 and served as section chief and branch manager for CDT before his appointment as CIO, which takes effect Sept. 4.
Brandon Hansard, who had been branch chief in CDT's Project Oversight Office, has been named deputy director over the California Project Management Office.
Hansard had six years in project oversight with CDT, culminating in the branch chief position for the California Health and Human Services portfolio. Before that, he had been with the Franchise Tax Board since 2000 in multiple business and IT areas including compliance, auditing, business analysis, application development, and project management.
