The California Department of Technology (CDT) is seeking a chief transformation officer (Career Executive Assignment) to lead the Office of Critical Services and Modernization. The incumbent, under the direction of the state chief technology officer, “develops and implements policies and procedures for the Service Assessment and Stabilization program” and is a member of CDT’s executive staff, according to the job posting.
“The Chief Transformation Officer will provide strategic leadership for the Technology Stabilization Service and Technology Modernization Service programs, providing direction, guidance and oversight of the assessments and stabilization across multi-disciplinary teams, in order to trigger timely and critically needed action by departments,” the posting says.

The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) is seeking a chief information security officer (IT Manager I) to lead the Information Technology Unit’s (ITU) Data, Quality Assurance (QA) and Security teams. The incumbent plans, organizes and directs policy, standards and policy compliance activities for work performed by these teams.
The incumbent “is responsible for managing the technology projects and/or contracts of the Data, QA, and Security Teams; day-to-day supervision of subordinate staff; and contributes to the customer-focused services provided by the ITU by developing positive and professional relationships with all OIG management and staff,” the job posting says.

The OIG is also seeking a highly skilled and expert-level DevOps engineer (IT Specialist II, will consider an IT I) to serve as the Infrastructure DevOps engineer for cloud and on-premises solutions, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of leadership and expertise while performing a wide variety of complex tasks in support of development, testing and production software deployment.
The senior DevOps engineer designs, builds, tests and maintains deployment pipelines; optimizes and applies architecture solutions for the benefit of the overall organization; and plays a major role in advising management or formulating IT strategy and policy, according to the job posting and duty statement. “An ideal candidate should demonstrate effective communication skills and be capable of leading and mentoring,” the posting says.
