The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is seeking an Azure Administrator (IT Specialist II) to act as administrator of enterprise Azure, Microsoft 365 (M365) environment and Infrastructure As Code (IAC), Active Directory Federation Services, Azure infrastructure, Azure Active Directory Connect, Azure Web Application Proxy, network shares and other functions.

Additional duties, according to the job posting, include:
  • Engineer and design Azure environment to include M365, IAC, Exchange, in addition to modifications of servers and Active Directory objects, server replacements or expansions to server hardware and software components.
  • Support the department external websites in Azure to include load balancer, web application proxy, application gateway
  • Identify, track and resolve any issues or problems with Windows server, VMware and Microsoft and Active Directory on premises and in the Azure Cloud, and Office 365
  • Support Certificate Services on production and development systems and support Microsoft Identity Management infrastructure, development and test environment to include containers
  • Develop procedures to ensure the successful backup and recovery of servers and critical data and organize and prioritize technical workload for subordinate staff and team

The California Department of Technology (CDT) is seeking an IT Specialist I to serve as the subject matter expert for all aspects of the administration and management of the equipment in the Operational Technology (O/T) Lab of the California Cybersecurity Integration Center (Cal-CSIC).

According to the job posting, the incumbent will be responsible for the advanced design, installation, testing, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of a variety of industrial electrical, instrumentation and controls devices and systems associated with the production, storage, transmission and monitoring of a power substation. In addition, the specialist will assist with the administration and management of CAL-CSIC Linux systems, Windows systems and cloud applications in Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure.

“The position requires exercising a high degree of initiative and independence, demonstrating tact and good judgment,” the posting says. Desirable qualifications for the job include:
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles and organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation)
  • Knowledge of information security systems engineering principles (NIST SP 800-160)
  • Knowledge of IT security principles and methods (e.g., firewalls, demilitarized zones, encryption)
  • Knowledge of local area and wide area networking principles and concepts including bandwidth management
  • Knowledge of mathematics (e.g., logarithms, trigonometry, linear algebra, calculus, statistics and operational analysis)

The Employment Development Department (EDD) is seeking a Test Automation Specialist (IT Specialist I) to support the Enterprise Testing Office (ETO) in the department’s IT Branch as a technical test analyst.

Desirable qualifications for this role, according to the job posting and duty statement, include:
