California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is recruiting for a variety of highly specialized IT positions. CCHCS’ IT Services Division deploys the IT infrastructure and clinical IT systems that support the delivery of medical, dental, and mental health-care services at all 34 California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) institutions statewide.

CCHCS offers multiple career paths, flexible work schedules, and telework options. The following opportunities are all based at CCHCS headquarters in Elk Grove, and applications will be accepted until each position is filled.
  • Risk management program lead (IT specialist II) within the CCHCS Information Security Office will define, implement, maintain, and enforce CCHCS’ Information Security Risk Management and Compliance Programs. Responsibilities of the position, according to the job posting and duty statement, include: Lead technical subject matter expert and security authority for security controls, security plans, security policies, risk assessments, and incident response for state staff and contractors performing contracted IT services. This position has a monthly salary range of $7,700 to $10,318.
  • Security operations manager (IT manager I) within Infrastructure Services has significant responsibility for formulating and administering organization IT policies and programs for planning, organizing, and directing the work of the Security Operations unit. Responsibilities of the position, according to the job posting and duty statement, include: Organizes, plans, and supervises highly technical staff and consultants who are responsible for the study, acquisition, design, build, test, implementation, maintenance, and support of the CCHCS enterprise security infrastructure services. Oversees the research, selection, installation, configuration, and maintenance of security infrastructure devices. This position has a monthly salary range of $8,381 to $11,231.
  • Directory services and security systems engineer (IT specialist III) within Infrastructure Services directs the most critical/complex infrastructure security projects, developing policies and procedures, requirements, and methodologies. Responsibilities of the position, according to the job posting and duty statement, include: Enforces compliance with policies and requirements and implements security and privacy controls across multiple information technology disciplines. This position has a monthly salary range of $8,488 to $11,375.
  • Technical lead for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (IT specialist II) within Application Innovation Services leads all phases of Data Warehouse development and maintenance, including identification, design, development, implementation and performance improvement. Responsibilities of the position, according to the job posting and duty statement, include: Provides technical knowledge and development expertise of Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) solutions for analytics and reporting projects. Designs and develops Data Warehouse ETL solutions. Assists in the ongoing development and process improvement of technical best practices for data movement, data quality, data cleansing, and other ETL-related activities. This position has a monthly salary range of $7,700 to $10,318.
  • Database developer (IT specialist II) within Application Innovation Services supports the phases of database development. Responsibilities of the position, according to the job posting and duty statement, include gathering, design, development, implementation, and performance improvement. This position has a monthly salary range of $7,700 to $10,318.
  • Testing and release lead (IT specialist II) within Application Innovation Services performs configuration management and release management for system components. Responsibilities of the position, according to the job posting and duty statement, include: Verifying stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture; creating backup and recovery strategies; conducting disaster and recovery analysis, planning, implementation, and administration for systems; and monitoring and conducting audits of system capacity, performance, and traffic analysis. Design test environment configuration and ensure change management standards are followed. This position has a monthly salary range of $7,700 to $10,318.
