The California Department of Human Resources is tripling capacity to its job application portal after the site crashed last month when thousands of users flooded the site in pursuit of an entry-level state job.
The department also reportedly plans to add more testing sites and seats in order to avoid the kind of bottleneck that occurred on Oct. 17, the first opportunity visitors to jobs.ca.gov had in about a year to schedule an exam for an office technician position.
Despite the technical glitches, all spots for the office technician exam were filled. More testing dates will be added later this year.
The website was down for maintenance on Saturday, Oct. 25.
