State, Local Tech Leaders to Gather for Digital Government Summit

The Bay Area event, scheduled for Thursday in Foster City, will feature a series of breakout sessions with technology leaders from government and industry.

California technology leaders will headline this week’s live, in-person Bay Area Digital Government Summit, an annual event for technologists and tech leaders in the public sector. The event is presented by Government Technology, sister publication to Industry Insider California.

The event will feature forums led by government and industry figures, as well as several guest speakers. It begins at 8 a.m. Thursday, and will conclude after an afternoon networking session, at the Crowne Plaza Foster City, at 1221 Chess Drive, Foster City, CA 94404. Information about registration, the agenda and sponsorship opportunities are available on the event page. Attendance is free for those in the public sector.

“Coming together for an in-person summit after two years of virtual events is an important milestone in adjusting to today’s normal,” said Liza Massey, chief information officer (CIO) for Marin County, who will deliver opening remarks. “Sharing lessons learned and planning for the future together is the best way to spark innovation and get energized to meet tomorrow’s challenges.”

Also participating will be Tim Dupuis, Alameda County’s CIO and registrar of voters.

“We are continuing to navigate through unprecedented times, facing challenges and finding successes as we move ahead,” Dupuis said. “I’m looking forward to gathering with everyone … to share ideas and information that we can use to make our communities stronger and better prepared for the future. I hope to see you there!”

A host of breakout sessions are planned through the day, many led by panels composed of public-sector and industry leaders.
