Three management positions have been filled at the California Department of Technology, according to an announcement issued Monday.
Starting Oct. 26 at the Office of Technology Services, Scott MacDonald will serve as project director of the state’s private cloud, called CalCloud. He’s been the agency information security officer for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation since 2009. MacDonald has a bachelor’s degree in in Management Information Systems from the University of San Francisco.
Richard Rogers will take the role of deputy director over the Office of Technology Services Engineering Division. Rogers is a longtime manager at the Employment Development Department, where he was chief of the Application Services Division. He starts at OTech on Oct. 19. Rogers is a CSUS alumnus.
Ben Word is joining the Department of Technology effective Oct. 19 to become the state’s enterprise architect. For the past five years, Word has managed the enterprise architecture program at the Department of Health Care Services. The state enterprise is responsible for the development and maintenance of the state’s enterprise architecture framework and associated policy and standards, including standards for application development.
