State Parks Issues RFP for Lifeguard Dispatch System

The California Department of Parks and Recreation has put out a call to vendors for software to manage its lifeguard personnel within the Gold Fields District Aquatic Program.

The California Department of Parks and Recreation (State Parks) has put out a call to vendors for a new lifeguard dispatching software system for its Folsom Sector.

The software will be used to create a “digital command center” for the Gold Fields District Aquatics Program that includes lifeguard dispatching, incident reporting, communications and training capabilities. The system would need to accommodate around 45 employees, according to the solicitation.

The requirements for the computer-aided dispatch portion of the project include the ability to use the system on a variety of devices in real time, the ability to make changes to the lifeguard roster and tower assignments, the ability to dispatch users to incident location, as well as real-time incident updates.

As for the other requirements, highlights include automated reporting, internal and external communication capabilities, and downloadable data reporting, among others. In addition, the incumbent would be required to provide 24/7 telephone and email installation and troubleshooting support for the life of the contract.
