Tracking the Spend: $4.6M for IT Goods in Second Quarter

Power supplies, keyboards, identity management and technical support were among the department’s purchases.

One department in state government spent about $4.6 million in the second quarter of the year on its five largest purchases of IT goods.

According to the State Contracting and Procurement Registration System, the California Department of Justice (DOJ) spent $4,663,453 on purchases of power supplies, keyboards and other items from April 1 through June 30. The five largest buys of IT goods are as follows:
  • $2,295,800 for “Ping Identity Software Year 1 Software Support and Implementation Services,” a three-year contract running from June 23 through June 22, 2025. The transaction, under the state Software Licensing Program (SLP), was with Savant Solutions of Sacramento. Ping specializes in identity and access management.
  • $757,135 for “APC by Schneider Electric: ISX0001967935-0003 on 2021-1350687 Part#ISX0001967935-0003,” a transaction that apparently includes uninterruptable power supplies and related equipment. The one-year statewide contract, running from May 13 through May 12, 2023, was with NWN Solutions Corp.
  • $589,524 for “HPE Synergy 12000 Configure-to-order Frame with 10x Fans,” which match the infrastructure-as-code capabilities of HPE’s intelligent software architecture. The five-year statewide contract runs from May 26 through May 25, 2027, and was awarded to NWN Solutions.
  • $527,967 for “Single Pointing Backlit English US Keyboard and 10 Key Numpad,” in a statewide contract running from May 12 through May 11, 2026, with PC Specialists Inc.
  • $493,027 for “Microsoft Unified Support Renewal Performance Support,” which includes advisory support as needed, built-in “proactive services,” and delivery management and support. This one-year SLP contract, running from May 31 through May 2023, was awarded to Crayon Software Experts LLC under a statewide contract.
