That total, which includes licensing fees, subscriptions and hardware, was almost 50 percent higher than what DFW spent on its five largest buys of IT goods in 2023, which was $3.7 million.
According to the State Contract and Procurement Registration System, those five largest buys were:
- $2.5 million for camera-based vision systems for automated data collection, in a Feb. 22 contract with Integrated Surveillance that was awarded as an informal competitive bid
- $1.5 million for SailPoint Identity Security Business Plus, in an April 4 contract that runs through May 31, 2028, with Kovarus Inc. under the Software Licensing Program (SLP)
- $627,912 for Tempo Timekeeping license subscription, in a Oct. 1 contract that runs through Dec. 31, 2027. The SLP contract is with Ten Consulting LLC
- $561,663 for monthly service charges with Geotab USA Inc., a fleet management company, in a March 26 statewide contract
- $458,469 for Custom Pinpoint Pro+ Collar hardware, which tracks wildlife, in a Sept. 12 statewide contract with Lotek Wireless Inc.
- $1.1 million for monthly telematic services with Geotab USA Inc., in a May 30 statewide contract
- $1.1 million for HP desktop computers in an April 1 statewide contract with NWN Solutions Corp.
- $817,890 for PowerEdge R650 servers in a Dec. 28 statewide contract with PC Specialists Inc.
- $434,250 for a Cisco enterprise bundle, in a May 25 statewide contract with Presidio Networked Solutions Group
- $245,769 for Peplink Max routers and related equipment, in a Jan. 3 contract with Ablegov Inc. that was competitively bid under the small-business option
