Tracking the Spend: CDT’s Top Five Buys of IT Goods in September

The California Department of Technology spent almost $18 million on its five largest buys of IT goods in September — more than twice the amount spent on corresponding purchases in August.

The California Department of Technology (CDT) spent almost $18 million on its five largest buys of IT goods in September — more than twice the amount spent on corresponding purchases in August.

According to the State Contracting and Procurement Registration System, CDT spent $17,876,196 on its five largest buys. In August, CDT spent $7,283,011 on its five largest purchases of IT goods. (All numbers are rounded.)

The five largest buys in September were:
  • $13,744,400 for SAG Software and Support Renewal, in a Sept. 30 contract that runs through Sept. 29, 2026. The contract with SAGA Software Inc. was non-competitively bid as a proprietary product.
  • $1,654,413 for Citrix Universal Premium Plus Concurrent Base subscription, in a Sept. 25 Software Licensing Program (SLP) contract with onPar Advisors that runs through Sept. 24, 2026.
  • $1,466,361 for “MNF — Base SAS” software in a Sept. 1 contract that runs through Aug. 31, 2024, with SAS Institute. It was non-competitively bid as a proprietary product.
  • $542,251 for “ChangeMan ZMF MIPS Base MIPS SW E-LTU Business Support.” Changeman automates the software migration changes from a development environment through test environments and into production. The Sept. 1 contract, non-competitively bid as a proprietary product, was with Serena Software Inc. and runs through Aug. 31, 2024.
  • $468,771 for T-Rex Software maintenance renewal, in a Sept. 30 contract that runs through Sept. 29, 2026. T-Rex is “a platform offering software and data services for structured finance and private credit,” according to the contract awardee, Dino Software Corp. This contract was awarded after a non-competitive bid as a proprietary product.
