Tracking the Spend: DOJ Surpasses $18.6M on Top 10 Buys of IT Goods

The California Department of Justice has spent more than $18 million on software licensing, networking and maintenance contracts this year.

The California Department of Justice(DOJ) has spent nearly $18.7 million on its top 10 IT goods purchases this year. These purchases include software licensing, statewide networking and maintenance contracts.

According to the enacted state budget, the DOJ boasts approximately $1.3 billion, which includes $504 million from the General Fund.

According to the State Contracting and Procurement Registration System (SCPRS), DOJ’s top 10 largest buys of IT goods totaled $18,693,807. Those 10 buys, with rounding, were:
  • $4,879,999 for VMWare enterprise license and support through a three-year contract with Kovarus Inc. The contract extends from May 17, 2024, to May 16, 2027.
  • $4,700,685 for ReleativityOne government data subscription for DOJ’s hosted instance R1G Flex Cloud FedRAMP instance tier 6 through onPar Advisors LLC. That contract extends from June 12, 2024, to June 11, 2026.
  • $2,314,990 for HPE Aruba Networking CX 6300M 48-port 1GbE Class 4 PoE and 4-port SFP56 switch through a statewide contract with Entisys Solutions Inc. That contract runs from Aug. 26, 2024, to Aug. 25, 2027. 
  • $1,776,184 for HPE virtual rack service (part No. ZU715A) through a statewide contract with NWN Solutions Corp. That contract extends from March 6, 2024, to June 2, 2029.
  • RedHat maintenance renewal (account No. 902784) through Taborda Solutions Inc. That contract extends from March 1, 2024, to Feb. 28, 2025.
  • Kofax TotalAgility transformation software volume 10K as part of a one-year contract with Intelligent Content Solutions LLC. That contract began in July 1, 2024, and will end June 30, 2027.
  • $873,620 for NEC TenPrint maintenance support and renewal through a non-competitively bid contract with NEC Corporation of America. That one-year contract began Aug. 1, 2024, and will end July 31, 2025.
  • $736,320 for a Secured and Audited Message Switching System - California Law System (SAMS-CLETS) software renewal through a non-competitively bid contract with Computer Deductions Inc. That contract began Jan. 1, 2024, and will end Dec. 31, 2025. 
  • $650,109 for Cortex XDR Pro software for one endpoint (includes 30 days of data retention and standard success) through Savant Solutions Inc. That contract began Aug. 30, 2024, and will end Aug. 2, 2025.
  • $600,000 for NEC active maintenance and support renewal through a non-competitively bid contract with NEC Corporation of America. That contract began Aug. 1, 2024, and will end July 31, 2025.
