Vallejo Names New CIO From Within

Lance David, who has served in the position in an interim capacity since the prior CIO’s departure, will now lead the IT department on a permanent basis.

The city of Vallejo has a new IT director, promoting from within.

Lance David will lead the IT Department, replacing former Vallejo CIO Naveed Ashraf, who took the same position with the city of Fairfield last year. David has served as interim director.

David has worked for the city for 11 years and has more than three decades of IT experience, according to a LinkedIn announcement.

“Throughout his tenure, David has distinguished himself as a strategic, solutions-driven leader,” the post reads. “He has guided complex technology initiatives, enhanced cybersecurity protections, strengthened service delivery and implemented reliable, sustainable technology solutions that benefit both city staff and the community. He attributes much of the department’s success to the highly skilled Information Technology team, whose professionalism, collaboration and commitment to public service continue to drive meaningful results.”

Aside from his years with the city of Vallejo, David has also worked for ELC Consulting and Allcovered in network engineering roles.

He is a lifelong resident of Vallejo.
