The tech veteran, who has more than 25 years’ experience in sales and management, will serve large city and county governments in Southern California, as well as the states of Nevada and Hawaii.

“The interesting part of this move is that I started my career in proxy technology — with Blue Coat, where I spent 10 years,” Ross told Industry Insider — California. Blue Coat, which was acquired by Symantec in 2016, used proxy architecture (on-premise, in the cloud and hybrid) in its security platform.

With Zscaler’s cloud proxy, Ross said, “It feels like going back to my roots — except at Zscaler, we now offer a native cloud platform which reduces risk, cost and complexity.”

Before joining Zscaler, Ross most recently was regional sales manager for Splunk in the Sacramento area. Before that, she had served in various sales and management roles with Fortinet, Symantec (now NortonLifeLock), Intel Security/McAfee, Accuvant/Optiv, Trend Micro, and Blue Coat, where she built out that company’s state/local/education practice.

“I am excited about growing the territory I have been assigned and helping my customers and prospects in their digital transformation journey,” Ross said.

In her LinkedIn profile, Ross describes herself as a “cyber enthusiast with over 25 years of experience in security and networking, passionately helping my customers to be successful in their outcomes.” The Henderson, Nev., resident also describes herself as “dedicated and passionate in helping women and children to achieve their fullest potential.”
