We are delighted to welcome our special guests, the Honorable Darrell Steinberg, Mayor of Sacramento, and Dr. Robert S. Nelsen, President of California State University, Sacramento, to celebrate our 10-year Anniversary!
Closing the Gap has made a difference to thousands of students here in Sacramento. Over the past ten years, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been distributed to innovative programs to help overcome the achievement gap. In just the past four years alone:
1,700+ students have received college readiness counseling
1,800+ students received scholarship & financial aid tutoring
Nearly 1,000 students participated in college tours
Nearly 1,000 students received SAT preparation
500+ received academic tutoring
I want to personally invite you to support this special community event and to recognize the organizations that have made such a difference in the lives of our young people. It will also be a great opportunity to connect with fellow community members who have shared in our mission over the years.
