Xerox Supports Local Communities

The communities in which Xerox employees live and work are the foundation of their success. This is especially true for the State and Local Government Teams. We understand the power of numbers, so in May, Xerox’s 20,000+ employees across the globe – held their inaugural company-wide volunteer event, Team Xerox Volunteer Days.

From our earliest days as a company, Xerox has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to corporate social responsibility, striving to make a difference within the communities we live and work. Team Xerox Volunteer Days is all about keeping that momentum going with employee-driven community giving.

Team Xerox set an ambitious goal– 15,000 volunteer hours. It’s about giving back in a meaningful way- wherever employees you live, however they’d like – so together, real impact and sustainable change for the greater good can be created.

In California, State, Local, and Education (SLED) teams participated in numerous volunteer activities, including:

Los Angeles Regional Food Bank – The Xerox Team and Women Business Enterprise (WBE) and Disable Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) Partners came together to pack 1,120 boxes of food to serve Los Angeles families. The Food Bank collects food from hundreds of resources.  With the help of 15,000 volunteers annually and an agency network of more than 600 partner agencies, LA Food Bank serves more than 800,000 people on a monthly basis. It has distributed more than 1.83 billion pounds of food.

Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services - As the largest nonprofit provider of basic human needs in Sacramento County, the Food Bank and Family Services offers educational opportunities and family support services. They are a place for hope and prosperity, where women and men, children and elders, are offered the tools they may need—food, clothes, education, technology, or just plain kindness—as they move toward a path of financial independence and self-sufficiency. The Xerox team packed 697 Toolkit Boxes of food for more than 650 students and their families as part of the Feeding America Summer Action Plan, which sheds light on the invisible struggle of children in America who face hunger every summer. This family-friendly toolkit provides meals that help kids get through summer.
