California High-Speed Rail Authority Names CIO

Army Col. Keith Tresh, a former chief information security officer for the state of California, has been confirmed as the new chief information officer for the California High-Speed Rail Authority.

Army Col. Keith Tresh, a former chief information security officer for the state of California, has been confirmed as the new chief information officer for the California High-Speed Rail Authority.

Tresh started the position at at High-Speed Rail Authority last week. The move was confirmed on his LinkedIn page. He will manage the organization's Office of Information Technology.

The HSR is charged with designing and building California’s high-speed rail system. Trains will travel from San Francisco to Los Angeles in less than three hours, reaching speeds of more than 200 miles per hour, says the agency’s website.

Tresh previously was the director of the Office of Information Security at the then-California Technology Agency from 2011-13, and had been chief information officer of the California National Guard since 2006.

In 2014 Tresh was named the CISO of Orange County and held several communications-based jobs from 1993 to 2005 while in the National Guard.

Tesh marks his specialties in cyberterrorism, cybercrime, information security, IT management, infrastructure engineering, strategic planning, customer advocacy, knowledge management and human resources.
