CalPERS, which recently issued an RFI for information about a cloud-based data warehouse for its organization, has canceled the bid opportunity and will reissue it at a later date.
The initial opportunity was released under an incorrect procurement vehicle.
"The cloud solution can be presented as a Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and/or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for a secure data warehouse for use by novice or experienced users to access data for report development, ad hoc reporting or business analytics."
One or multiple RFPs related to a data warehouse could be issued during the first quarter of 2016, according to CalPERS CIO Liana Bailey-Crimmins.
CalPERS' 2015-16 IT strategic plan mentions at least two objectives centered on data: "Establish an integrated IT governance structure that leverages data to make collaborative decisions" and "Use reportable measurements to drive ongoing improvements in service delivery to achieve business results.
Last month Bailey-Crimmins said CalPERS is doing a technical assessment of its data warehouse.
