The department is soliciting bids for the project through the California Multiple Award Schedule (CMAS).
CDFW explains that the project is replacing the legacy Commercial Fisheries Information System (CFIS) with new .NET technology:
The new Web-based MLDS will both replace the CFIS application and add functionality such as public-facing components designed to reduce the amount of paper forms the department receives that must be keyed in by hand. The system consists of five major components: 1. Marine Landings Receipts 2. Marine Taxes 3. Transportation Receipts 4. Marine Aquaria Receipts 5. Marine Data Warehouse
