Nov. 17: Pre-Bid Conference for California Vendor-Hosted Software Services

The California Department of Technology is hosting a mandatory pre-bid conference on Nov. 17 for bidders responding to the department’s solicitation for “Vendor Hosted Software Services.”

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. the Department of Technology’s Venice Conference Room at 10860 Gold Center Drive in Rancho Cordova.

An invitation for bid (IFB) the department released on Nov. 2 seeks “multiple Vendor Hosted Software Solutions for human resources tools such that customer state departments can select from various manufacturers based on individual needs.”

This bid is the first of a series of Vendor Hosted Software Solutions (VHSS) the Department of Technology plans as part of its revised approach to the state’s private cloud and its overall cloud strategy. Additional bids for collaboration tools, customer relationship management (CRM), identity management and learning management systems also will be released in the future, the department announced.

Interested bidders must self-certify by today (Nov. 16) that they’re compliant with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, the state of California’s special cloud provisions and other requirements. The last day to submit draft bids is Dec. 4.
