Final responses are due later this month for an RFP from the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) seeking a contractor to identify deceased CalPERS members who have not yet been reported to the retirement system.
The chosen services provider "will compare records in the CalPERS data files to the contractor’s multi-source vital statistics database and other screening methods at their disposal," the bid document says.
The contractor will perform the data check on approximately 600,000 records of CalPERS payees and thousands of other similar records.
CalPERS says it's also interested in other optional services, including continuous monitoring, obituary searches and online searches.
Completed proposals are due by Aug. 26.
More information about these bids can be found on the CalPERS website. This listing, gathered from official government sources, is included for informational purposes only. Details are current as of Aug. 2.
