The Sacramento Regional Transit District is seeking a consultant with expertise to modify an IP-based Interactive Voice Response (IVR) paging solution that delivers announcements to more than 100 light rail platforms in the city.
The consultant will develop the software application, configure the IVR and voice phone system, and purchase commercial software.
"The primary goal of this project is to provide a means of broadcasting train arrival and departure information on the light rail platforms to visually impaired riders without creating excessive noise pollution affecting nearby residents and passengers," the transit district explains in the bid document.
The project will use an IP paging solution and extend Enghouse’s FareLine IVR software installed on Nuance’s Loquendo VoxNauta VXML Platform.
