The city’s current financial system is called Financial Accounting and Management Information System (FAMIS), a COBOL-VSAM mainframe. It connects to the city’s payroll, budget and EIS systems.

The city and county of San Francisco has selected Accenture for a new ERP and financial management system, the company announced Wednesday.

Accenture said the new system will be built upon its enterprise services platform for government, which includes Oracle PeopleSoft financial management and business intelligence software.

Accenture did not disclose the contract terms in its announcement. The project RFP said the project could extend for as many as a dozen years during implementation, through maintenance and operation.
