The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) has issued a notice of intent to award Hewlett Packard Enterprise for its competitive procurement on fiscal intermediary (FI) services for the Medi-Cal Dental Program.
"DHCS intends for the selected proposer to take over the existing CD-MMIS [California Dental Medicaid Management Information System] and operate it to the satisfaction of state and federal regulations and requirements for FI services for Medi-Cal and other dental-related programs," the department wrote in a Request for Proposal last year.
The department scored one other qualified bid, according to state records.
A related bid for the California Dental Administrative Services Organization was awarded to Delta Dental, DHCS also announced on June 17.
HP Enterprise and Delta Dental will coordinate on the project.
Officials envision the CD-MMIS will someday be consolidated into a modernized California MMIS system that the state must complete.
