The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) plans to issue a request for offers (RFO) to seek a cloud-based, AI-powered search and analytics platform.

The platform will be used to monitor prisons along the Texas-Mexico border and transcribe spoken data, which the platform must then use to search for chosen keywords and phrases to assist in contraband investigations.

The expected contract term for the RFO is two years.

RFO No. IW221700 is expected to be posted to the Texas Electronic State Business Daily (ESBD) website on Aug. 11. Hailey Burgess is the point of contact for this pre-solicitation notice, which expires the day the RFO is issued.

The agency is also in the planning phase of replacing its offender management system (OMS). The OMS, referred to as the Corrections Information Technology System 2.0, will handle inmate and parole operational functions.
