The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for an online solution capable of administering and managing statewide assessments and classroom instructional instruments.
According to the RFP, the agency is seeking a contractor that can “build an assessment program that will provide all students access to innovative classroom instruction and assessments in ways that measure the knowledge and skills students have gained and provide teachers and parents with information to guide the steps that students are ready to take next.”
The solution must handle assessment administration, scoring and reporting for the Texas Student Assessment Program, a statewide testing program designed to measure student learning comprehension and application.
According to the TEA website, said program includes “the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR), STAAR Alternate 2, the Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) and TELPAS Alternate.”
Test administration information, including scoring and reporting, must be made available to TEA and local education agencies (LEAs) in real time.
The agency also requires the development, assessment, administration, printing, packaging and distribution to LEAs of all paper materials, including accommodated paper and Braille test forms.
