The Harris County Department of Education (HCDE) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide a broad range of technology goods and services.

The department’s request for proposals outlines two distinct components: internal technology needs and the broader requirements of members of HCDE’s cooperative purchasing division, Choice Partners. Members include school districts, higher education institutions, municipalities, counties and other public-sector agencies.

Vendors are required to respond to both parts to be considered. According to the RFP, proposals that address only one section will be deemed unresponsive.

Through this procurement, HCDE intends to award one or more contracts that can be used by its own organization and by Choice Partners’ more than 2,500 members nationwide.

The scope of work includes the supply and support of technology hardware, software, asset management services, IT support and leasing options. Services and equipment are to be provided on an as-needed basis, with no guaranteed quantities.

The resulting contracts will have an initial one-year term with up to four optional one-year renewals.

More information regarding RFP No. 25/049MF can be found online. Questions must be submitted through the HCDE eBid system by 2 p.m. Aug. 28. Proposals are due by 2 p.m. Sept. 4. Contract awards are expected to be made in November.

HCDE previously released a solicitation for a new procurement platform too, specifically designed for government entities and to support Choice Partners.
