The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) is gathering information from vendors about technologies and strategies for collecting roadway asset data to support its current maintenance and planning efforts.
The agency’s request for information (RFI) seeks insights into tools that can help NTTA build a more comprehensive inventory of assets across its tollway network. The tollway authority is interested in systems capable of capturing data on both above-ground and below-ground infrastructure with accuracy and efficiency.
Respondents are asked to detail their approach to data collection and gap analysis, as well as how their solution integrates with existing systems. NTTA also requests information about how final data sets will align with the agency’s geographic information system standards.
The agency currently uses AssetWorks, implemented in 2013, as its computerized maintenance management system. Existing asset data is stored across multiple formats, including Esri Geodatabases, MicroStation files and PDFs. The RFI signals NTTA’s intent to consolidate and enhance this data using updated technologies, potentially including AI, automation and machine learning.
Submissions should also address vendor experience, methods for quality assurance and cost estimates for initial deployment and long-term maintenance.
More detailed information about RFI No. 25070, including all submission requirements and requests, can be found online. A virtual pre-information conference will be held at 3 p.m. Sept. 19. Questions must be submitted by 5 p.m. Sept. 24. Final responses are due by 11 a.m. Oct. 3. Todie Green is the point of contact for this RFI.
