United Data Technologies (UDT) has secured a cooperative contract with the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR), giving the company broader access to deliver IT and telecommunications solutions to public-sector customers across the state.

The agreement, listed as DIR-CPO-5856, enables state agencies, local governments and educational institutions to purchase directly from UDT through DIR’s Cooperative Contracts Program. The arrangement covers education IT products such as classroom interactive technologies, computing devices, networking equipment and related technical services.

DIR’s Cooperative Contracts Program is one of the state’s largest technology procurement vehicles. Instead of requiring each agency to conduct its own lengthy bid process, the program establishes pre-negotiated contracts that public-sector customers can use to buy from approved vendors.

State agencies are mandated to consider DIR contracts when purchasing IT commodities, and local governments, K-12 schools and higher education institutions may opt in. According to DIR, the program generated $3.4 billion in sales in the 2024 fiscal year across all categories.

UDT’s cooperative contract allows the company to provide a suite of IT and telecommunications offerings to K-12 districts, public colleges and universities, state agencies and local governments. Rather than issuing a formal solicitation request, these customers will now have the option to procure directly from UDT under the program’s established terms and pricing.

UDT Chief Executive Officer Henry Fleches called the contract a strategic opportunity for the company to expand its footprint in Texas.

“Whether you’re a K-12 school, higher education institution, state agency or local government, we look forward to becoming a partner to provide IT products and services that will be cost effective, instill operational efficiencies and allow you to focus on your stakeholder priorities without having to worry about your technology needs,” Fleches said in an announcement.

Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Miramar, Fla., UDT employs more than 400 professionals nationwide. The company currently serves 11 of the nation’s 20 largest school districts and more than 500 K-12 customers.
