William D. Eggers

William D. Eggers is the director of public-sector research at Deloitte and the author or co-author of numerous books on government reform. His latest book, "The Solution Revolution: How Business, Government, and Social Enterprises Are Teaming Up to Solve Society's Toughest Problems," co-authored with Paul Macmillan, was published in September 2013. Other books Eggers has authored or co-authored include "If We Can Put a Moon: Getting Big Things Done in Government," "The Public Innovators' Playbook," "Government 2.0" and "Governing by Network."

Eggers' writings have won numerous awards including the Louis Brownlow award for best book on public management, the Sir Antony Fisher award for best book promoting an understanding of the free economy, and the Roe Award for leadership and innovation in public-policy research. A former manager of the Texas Performance Review and director of e-Texas, he has advised governments around the world, and his commentaries have appeared in dozens of major media outlets including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and the Chicago Tribune.
