The event is produced by Industry Insider — California, Government Technology magazine and the Center for Digital Government, all part of e.Republic. This is the 10th year of the conference.
“Moving this event to July was something our members requested,” said Mike Driessen, e.Republic’s vice president of Subscription Services. “I am pleased we will be able to deliver our usual in-depth analysis of the state budget, but I’m even more excited that we have one of the strongest CIO speaker lineups in our history. This event is vital for industry partners selling to the state of California.”
The Center for Digital Government’s deputy chief innovation officer, Joe Morris, will provide an analysis of the state budget and where the IT opportunities lie. In addition, a number of chief information officers from across departments of state government will give their take on the budget and address key topics on innovation, workforce and leadership.
The state CIO and director of the California Department of Technology, Liana Bailey-Crimmins, will kick off the event, followed by panels with agency and departmental CIOs that cover the state landscape. In addition to Bailey-Crimmins, speakers include:
- Chad Bratton, CIO of the Office of Data and Innovation
- Rita Gass, CIO of the Employment Development Department
- Scott Gregory, deputy director of technology for the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE)
- Jacob “Jake” Johnson, CIO and deputy director of the Information Technology Services Division for the Department of Rehabilitation
- Kristin Montgomery, CIO and director of Enterprise Information Services for the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation
- Kanuri Murty, CIO and deputy director of the IT Division for the Financial Information System for California
- Jason Piccione, agency chief information officer for the Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency.
