State IT officials will be gathering in Sacramento next week to brief attendees on their priorities and pain points at the State of Technology California Industry Forum.
The event, Aug. 7, comes just more than a month after leaders and lawmakers finalized the state’s massive $321 billion budget, which outlined hundreds of millions for IT projects across several agencies.
The half-day event will feature broader priority updates from the California Department of Technology (CDT) CIO Liana Bailey-Crimmins, as well as other prominent figures in the government IT space, like Senior Counselor to the Governor Amy Tong and Office of Data and Innovation (ODI) Director Jeffery Marino.
In addition, the event will also feature speakers from various departments, like Kevin Cornish, CIO for Covered California; Ashish Jain, the chief technology officer for California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS); and Stephenson Loveson, CIO for California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS).
On the security front, state Chief Information Security Officer Vitaliy Panych and ODI CISO Thea Man and others will update members on the state’s security posture and the road ahead.
The event will be held at the Hilton Sacramento Arden West and will run from 12:30-5:15 p.m. Industry Insider members are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Registration is $150 per person for Industry Insider members and $250 for non-members.
