CalHHS Data Officer Appointed to Policy Adviser Role With DHCS

John Ohanian has been appointed by the governor to the position of policy adviser for the Data Exchange within the California Department of Health Care Services.

John Ohanian, the chief data officer and director at the Center for Data Insights within the California Health and Human Services Agency (CalHHS), has been appointed to the position of policy adviser for the Data Exchange within the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS).

He has been with CalHHS since 2020 and previously served as the president and CEO of 211 San Diego and Community Information Exchange as well as the associate director and chief financial officer of Jewish Community Foundation San Diego.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from the University of San Diego. His appointment does not require Senate confirmation.
