The state employees’ retirement system is “seeking a dynamic, innovative leader” for the technology that runs the nation’s largest public pension fund. The position allows for partial remote work and includes a possible incentive award of up to 15 percent of annual salary.

The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) has opened recruitment for a chief information officer (Career Executive Assignment).

The monthly salary range for the CIO position is $10,831 to $14,274, and an incentive award of up to 15 percent of annual salary is also available. Applicants must complete a Statement of Qualifications and may be subject to certain other requirements of the position. The recruitment will be ongoing until the position is filled.

The successful candidate will succeed Christian Farland, who was CalPERS’ CIO from February 2018 through last month before leaving that role for a client executive position with HiPER Solutions of San Francisco.
