The California Department of Technology has released its latest educational offering for public-sector technologists, this time in the form of a GenAI Boot Camp.

The department is not new to offering professional development courses to state, regional and local government employees, but this latest offering is less about moving up the career ladder and more about moving forward with new tools.

The six-week program will run from Oct. 13 through Nov. 20 and will offer 20 participants a chance to tackle some of the more vexing issues surrounding AI, including policies, governance protocols and other challenges.

Applications for the program must be submitted by 5 p.m. Aug. 10, with authorization from their organization's CIO. More information about the program is available on the program website.
