The California Department of Technology is accepting applications for its 2027 Information Technology Leadership Academy, designed to help public-sector technology professionals advance into management or executive roles. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Oct. 28.
The program runs from Jan. 6 through May 6, 2027, and is open to California state and local government employees currently serving as IT supervisors or managers. Ideal candidates have at least three years of experience in either or both roles, have completed the department’s Emerging IT Leaders Boot Camp, or both.
Applicants must be nominated by their chief information officer and submit a digitally signed CIO Authorization Form with their application package.
The 2027 academy will be the program’s 34th offering. Many classes will remain online, but participants should expect more sessions requiring in-person attendance at the department’s Training and Education Center in Rancho Cordova.
Program details and applications are available on the department’s ITLA webpage.
