CDT Portal Guides Tech Vendors Doing Business With State

The site offers a breakdown of the four core areas of the California Department of Technology as well as links to the state IT strategic plan and a directory of department and agency chief information officers.

The California Department of Technology (CDT) is reminding vendors of a one-stop online resource for those interested in doing business with the department.

The Vendor Resources page on CDT’s website was mentioned by state Chief Information Officer Liana Bailey-Crimmins in remarks she delivered at the recent State of Technology — California Industry Forum in Sacramento.

“Businesses looking to sell technology products and services to CDT can reach out to one of the core areas,” the announcement says. Those core areas are:
  • Office of Technology Services (OTS), which oversees the state’s data center and delivers technical services to hundreds of local and state departments.
  • Statewide IT Oversight, which works across state government to foster continuity, standards and direction. This encompasses the offices of Digital Services, Information Security, Statewide Project Delivery, and Technology Policy.
  • Statewide Directives, which manages directives involving technology that are driven by state and federal legislation. This includes broadband and middle-mile connectivity, the statewide stabilization service and the Technology Modernization Fund.
  • Internal CDT Operations, which manages back-office business operations and support including administration, finance, budget, human resources, desktop management, internal service management and CDT projects and security.
The website also guides vendors on getting certified with the Department of General Services and on finding potential bids with the state through the Cal eProcure portal.

Other resources that are available on the Vendor Resources page include links to the California Technology Strategic Plan, the state’s technology goals, the Cal-Secure cybersecurity road map, and a directory of state department chief information officers and agency information officers.

Vendors interested in attending one of the semi-annual vendor forums hosted by CDT and DGS can also sign up on this site. And for those vendors seeking to pitch a service or solution to a state government department, this page offers a link to a vendor inquiry form.
