Deputy Director, Digital Identity Program (CEA)

The position also requires coordinating with privacy, nonprofit, international and government stakeholders; developing policies and legal frameworks for digital identity acceptance; supporting identity management, privacy engineering, single sign-on and distributed authentication; and advising department leadership and the Legislature on digital identity policy and governance.

Franchise Tax Board
Enterprise Data to Revenue Technical Director

This posting is for a technical director for the Enterprise Data to Revenue project within the Tax Systems Modernization Bureau at Franchise Tax Board. Reporting to the chief information officer, the role is a senior executive position responsible for leading enterprisewide technology, data, cybersecurity and systems strategy. A major focus is representing FTB’s technology needs during the long-term Tax Systems Modernization effort, which is intended to modernize the agency’s tax filing, auditing and collection systems.

The role also has major responsibility for governance, risk and interagency coordination. It includes advising executive leadership on enterprise technology strategy, serving on governance bodies, supporting cybersecurity and risk management frameworks such as NIST and zero trust, and ensuring compliance with statewide and federal policies. In addition, the director represents FTB in meetings with state agencies, oversight bodies and legislative stakeholders, while also contributing to executive recruitment, mentoring and succession planning.
